POW! PARTY IN THE PARK: OCT 17

Mark your calendars! Join us at McCarren park on Saturday, October 17 for our annual community celebration.

In addition to our usual fun program, we will also have yummy food and special activities for families to enjoy! All are welcome - including current, returning, and new families and their guests.

Our Programs

Saturday FUN for Kids & Families

We are proud to offer free & low-cost enrichment programs for inclusive learning and play across all abilities, backgrounds, and ages in a safe and supportive environment.

Join us most Saturdays for a Morning Session (11am-1pm) & Afternoon Session (1-3pm) at McCarren Park & Play Center in Brooklyn, NY. You are welcome to attend either or both sessions! We meet on Saturdays throughout the school year except the weekends of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years.

Programming is free with a New York City Parks Membership. You may be eligible for sponsorship of your membership; please email us for details: pow@powlers.org

Please note: children must be accompanied by a guardian.

Morning Session

11am-1pm

Music that is interactive and prompts speech and language development through listening and singing
Storytelling that is engaging and related to participants’ world
Art projects that are process-oriented, collaborative, and sensory-stimulating
Open playtime where everyone can enjoy being in a group and discover ways to play together using everyday objects in creative ways.

Afternoon Session

1pm-3pm

Sports (such as Soccer) that help strengthen social skills, team spirit, and motor/physical skills
Activities such as ballroom dance, yoga, ballet, brain gymnastics, and movement games that blend exercise, fun, and expression
Open playtime where everyone can enjoy being in a group and discover ways to play together using everyday materials in creative ways
